A new revised and expanded edition of this classic reference work. Presentation copy, inscribed by H. Gernsheim and dated 1979. A tiny crack in the upper hinge otherwise a very good copy. There are joined 3 separatas on the history of photography written by H. Gernsheim, two (no 2 & no 3) are dedicated : 1) Cuthbert Bede (The Rev. Edward Bradley, 1827 - 1889), Robert Hunt F. R. S.
