Louis-Philippe sur sa table de travail, plans des fortifications sur son bureau. La Caricature, No.147, pl.307
-
Lithograph by de Becquet, showing the King sitting at his desk reading a 'plan de Paris', while dogs under the desk sniff at his feet. This page appeared in La Caricature, morale, politique et littéraire - a satirical weekly that was distributed in Paris between 1830 and 1843. It was often critical of King Louis-Phillipe (he was typically depicted as a pear), so this was a more positive image! The print is on cloth like paper, aged, and has slight creases to page edges. 250 x 205 mm (9Ÿ x 8 inches). .
