Desjardins was a professor of history at the Royal College of Angers (1843-1847). Having obtained a doctorate in letters, he was appointed professor of history at the Faculty of Letters in Dijon (1847-1856). In 1856, he transferred to the Faculty of Letters in Caen. In 1858, he was appointed to the Faculty of Letters of Douai where he remained until his death in 1886, holding the deanship during the same period (1858-1886). He was also a lecturer at the Faculty of Sciences in Lille. He was an expert in the history of diplomatic negotiations between France with Tuscany. 14 pages. 240 x 155 mm (9œ x 6 inches). .
