Tours Alfred Mame et Fils 1898 Première édition de cet ouvrage peu commun sur le Travail de la fin du XIXe siècle par Gabriel Guillemot (1855-1898) ici signé sous le pseudonyme de Guy Tomel, polytechnicien, il est aussi l'auteur de "Le Bas du pavement parisien" (1894) etc. Ouvrage illustré de nombreuses gravures in et hors texte en noir sur le thème de la condition ouvrière. Reliure contemporaine en demi-cuir rouge foncé. Titres et lignes dorés au dos. Planches marbrées. Les planches sont un peu décolorées et frottées, mais elles sont en bon état. Papiers de fin marbrés. Il y a un long commentaire encré sur la première page de garde, qui a été signé en haut. On ne peut cependant pas distinguer la signature. L'intérieur est propre et bien rangé, avec un peu de noircissement sur les bords des pages. Nombreuses notes manuscrites d'une personne anonyme, au crayon bleu dans les marges (probablement de la même main que les commentaires de la page de garde). 270 x 185 mm. 392 pages

Contemporary binding with half dark red leather. Gilt titles and lines to the spine. Marbled boards. There is a little fading and rubbing to the boards, but in good strong condition. Marbled end papers. There is a lengthy inked comment to the front end paper, which has been signed to the top. We cannot make out the signature though. Internally clean and tidy, with a little darkening to the page edges. Numerous handwritten notes from an anonymous person, in blue pencil in the margins (probably the same hand as the front end paper comments). 270 by 185mm (10٠by 7Πinches). 392 pages .
