Breaking up the "Duncan"

Après la publication, les planches ont été détruites. La planche a été gravée sur place au cours de l'hiver 1911. Planche 193 dans "The etchings of Frank Brangwyn : A catalogue raisonné" de William Gaunt. Le H.M.S. Duncan a été construit en 1892 et démantelé au chantier naval de Castle en 1911. Cette édition limitée, qui appartenait à l'origine à un ami de Brangwyn, fait partie d'une collection d'uvres de l'artiste constituée sur plus de 50 ans. Né à Bruges en 1867, Brangwyn a exposé pour la première fois à la Royal Academy à l'âge de 18 ans seulement. À partir des années 1890, il a produit une abondance d'illustrations de livres et d'eaux-fortes. Il est décédé en 1957.
