Attractive full colour example of Speed's map of Lincoln, from an early (1676) edition of Speed's Theatre of Great Britain. Includes multiple coats of arms and a large inset plan of the town of Lincoln. The hand colouring is attractive and bright, but there are marks and stains to the edges of the map, and a little darkening. There are old pin holes to the corners where one pinned to the wall! To the rear are pages 63 and 64 with the description of Lincolnshire and list of the Hundreds in the county. The decoration of the text title identifies the edition as that of 1676. Centre fold.
