First edition. Red cloth with gilt titles. A beautiful photobook focussing on the Ganges river by de Sturco. As new condition. Signed to the title page by the photographer. Enclosed is a glossy photographic print (which features as a double page image in the book). This is signed by the photographer and numbered with an edition of only 25 copies. Ganga Ma is the result of a ten-year photographic journey along the Ganges by Giulio Di Sturco, documenting the effects of pollution, industrialisation and climate change. The project follows the river for over 2500 miles, from its source in the Himalayas in India through to its delta in the Bay of Bengal in Bangladesh. There are 138 pages. Predominantly (127 pages) colour photographs. to the rear are two essays. "India Lives, if Ganga Lives" by Vandana Shiva (5 pages), and "An island is an archipelago drained of time" by Eimear Martin (6 pages). 24.5cm x 17cm. Conforms to WorldCat / OCLC: 1121197141. .
