First edition. A bound archive / collection of the proceedings of the Association. The collection was collected by Emile Buchet, a founder member an avocat in Orleans. Founded in 1863 by some former Orléans and others who had become Parisians. It had set itself a threefold goal: to help former students in need, to award a gold medal to the rhetoric prize, and to create a scholarship for the son of a former student. It held its annual general meeting at a banquet held alternately in Paris and Orléans. In 1864, it began to publish an annual bulletin. Half leather hardback with marbled boards. Gilt titles to the spine. Library shelf label to the top edge of the spine* Here we have gathered ten years of the bulletin and further ephemera. The full collection is as follows: (1) The folding sheet of the regulation of the Association. (2) A torn newspaper leaf publishing the regulations. (3) A two leaf letter inviting the recipient to the opening banquet. Although the recipient is not shown the remnant of a stamp, and a postmark are evident. (4) Premier banquet. 1864. Yellow wrappers. Printed in Orléans by Puget et cie. 16pp. (5) Single leaf newspaper article about the banquet, followed by 6 leaves of printed letters about prizes and the banquet. (6) Banquet Avril 1865. Purple wrappers, This and following are printed by Paul Dupont. 24pp. followed by three leaves of printed letters. (7) Banquet Avril 1866. In 1913, the Association gave an account of fifty years of activity in a 163-page booklet. Turbulence followed during the two world wars. Despite a revival in the 1960s, the Association has been dormant since 1995. * label for the bibliothèque du fonds Bergevin to the top of the front cover. Taking its name from the two leading figures of the Bergevin family, Louis-Athanase Bergevin (1753-1832) and his son Louis-Catherine (1798-1876), were magistrates from Blois and major landowners in Saint-Gervais-la-Forêt. The collection was dispersed at auction in Véndome in 2022. .
