Franckfurt am Mayn Verlegung Johann Feyrabends 1650 Une magnifique gravure sur bois de Jost Amman. Elle figurait à l'origine à la page Piii (verso) (page 131) de l'ouvrage imprimé en 1599. Notre exemplaire est issu d'un tirage ultérieur. L'image est entourée d'une bordure noire qui n'apparaît pas dans le livre original. Il s'agit néanmoins d'un bel exemplaire imprimé sur un papier épais à trame en chaîne. Légèrement collée sur un papier de fond bleu. Une jolie image représentant des enfants. Deux d'entre eux lisent dans un abécédaire en corne et utilisent un bâtonnet pour suivre la ligne. Un autre enfant est assis avec un chat. Du feuillage et une croix apparaissent à l'arrière-plan. 100 × 110 mm (4 × 4Œ pouces). En excellent état, avec seulement une minuscule tache de rousseur sur l'image. Graveur et illustrateur Jost Amman (1539-1591). Graveur et illustrateur suisse / allemand. Parmi ses uvres les plus connues figure un livre illustré sur les perspectives des polyèdres, *Perspectiva corporum regularium*, rédigé par Wenzel Jamnitz en 1568 et considéré comme l'un des « ouvrages de perspective les plus somptueux publiés en Allemagne à la fin du XVIe siècle ».

A beautiful woodcut by Jost Amman. This originally appeared as page Piii (verso) (page 131) of the book printed in 1599. Our copy is a later printing. There is a black border around the image which is not present in the original book. Nevertheless, this is a good impression printed onto heavy, chain link paper. Lighted tipped onto blue backing paper. An attractive image of children. Two are reading from a horn book, and using a pointer stick to follow the line. Another child is sat with a cat. Foliage and a cross are in the background. 100 by 110mm (4 by 4Πinches). In excellent condition, with just a tiny foxing spot to the image. Printmaker and illustrator Jost Amman (1539-1591). Among his best known works is an illustrated book of perspectives of polyhedra, Perspectiva corporum regularium, written by Wenzel Jamnitz in 1568 and considered one of the most "lavish of the perspective books published in the Germany in the late sixteenth century." .
