Two famous texts on hunting and fishing in the original Greek with the Latin translations, the learned commentaries and scholia by the German philologist Konrad Rittershausen (1560-1613). Often attributed to one sole author they were in fact written by two different writers: the didactic poem Cynegetica was composed by Oppian of Syria in about 212 and Halieutica by Oppian of Anazarbe (today Korghos) in about 180.
